Had Dr Gerry with son Mike, and buddies Ken, Chad and Aaron, started on the troll and got 2 yellows to start the day. Decided to go light tackle and jig, after an hour of no luck decided to shift gears and tilefish, landed over 2 dozen with some quality fish, Gerry wanted to jig and he was getting doubleheaders. Hit the pots and got half a dozen to add to the box. Came inshore to find a big bluefin but no luv.

July 14th Stripers- Open Boat Report

Capt Greg and Shane had an open boat today for some summer striped bass and it did not disappoint. Great fishing on live bunker with a boat limit of keeper sized striped bass many oversized releases. Multiple fish on at one time! After the guys fill of stripers we did a little fluking but conditions didn't align and we only caught a handful of shorts in the short time fluking

We have some availability this summer- call/text 201-421-8653 to get on board!

Bush Family Stripers and Fluke

Capt Greg had Charlie Bush and family out for a summer combo trip this morning. The crew chose to brave the rain in the morning and glad we did! The sun came out and it became a beautiful day on the water. Striper fishing was a touch off but we caught some and then switched over to fluke. Added some keeper fluke to our box with some short life to keep the crew busy.

Tiritilli Family Stripers and Fluke

Had the Tiritilli family out today- saw the bunker thick so one throw of the net and we decided to make a few striper drifts close to home. Caught a couple overs and a couple keepers then went fluking. Very good action with plenty of short life with a handful of keepers mixed in. Biggest fluke went 24" and 5lbs on the scale caught by Matt on a @shadlifebaits ball jig.

We have two spots available on Sunday for our striper/fluke trip departing at 6am ($180 per spot). Call/text 201-421-8653 to jump on

Su Kwan Canyon

Had Su Kwan and the boys out for a tilefish trip yesterday. Told them we should try some tuna as well, they agreed, horrible fog conditions made for impossible fishing, so after a few hours pulled the plug, glad the tiles cooperated. Saw a few mahi that wouldn't cooperate.

Bluefin and Tilefish Regulars

Fun day today with the regulars, started the trip with a 5 banger of tuna. Switched up gears and landed two dozen tiles to 20lbs, went on the hunt for popping/jigging fish in afternoon and found the mother lode, getting a bunch more. Cool thing was did some BFT finlet sample for the Bluefin Collaboration.
