31FA and 44FA Offshore

Captain Willy and Tyler had Mark Aitken Sr and Mark Jr with nephew Sam from Virginia and started out tuna fishing where the crew worked hard and jigged a nice yellowfin. After working hard for that fish they wanted to change it up and did a shark drift for the hammerheads circling the boat which putting on a show for us. Finished the day on some deep wrecks for a limit of jumbo seabass and ling. Fun day with a great family.

Had Orion and the boys back today. He brought 2 offshore newbies Ryan and Evan so had some cherries to pop. Trip was booked as a canyon multi species trip. Decided to start Inshore first thing, mistake #1, should have started in canyon. Mistake #2 left inshore right before bite started getting to canyon after bite ended! Ugh🤬. Decided to fill the boxes with mahi and tiles, which we did and catch afternoon bite. Finally got a shot on a jig but lost that one, tough day! Glad Capt Willy on the 31 got a nice one, on a half day trip with Mark Aitken and family.

Bobby Brazicki Bluefin

Had regular Bobby Brazicki back with the boys. Started out slow till we figured out where the life was. Once we did started out 2-3 on nice sized bluefin on the jigs to 43 inches. Figured it was going to be a banner day, Not the case rest of the morning was a slow grind, looking for bigger bluefin and yellowfin. Decided to look for action inshore and found some life going 1-2 on smaller bluefin to end the trip.

JJ Fish Week - Atlantic City Tournament

Had the pleasure this week of fishing the inaugural Jimmy Johnson classic out of Atlantic City. Thanks to host Lauren and Valerie for hosting an amazing tournament. Food, ambiance, Comradeship was amazing. Thanks To my Co captains Matt  and Jamar. And crew of TJ, Chris, Ciro, Adam, Karl and Nick. Plan was to fish hard and try  find  big fish. Landed yellowfin tuna which couldn't compete. So focused on Marlin, last day of fishing jumped a huge one. While clearing lines for end of tournament we hooked and landed a huge white marlin, 73 inches after 330 deadline that would have been a Contender. Released her until the next tournament.

Also jigged some bonus king mackerel. They then decided to head offshore to look for some yellowfin. Got the bite they wanted but pulled the hook near the boat, damn!

Sam Angelo Stripers

Changed up gears today with all of the crappy weather. Took the Sam Angelo family out for what ever is biting in Raritan Bay on the 31FA. Loaded up the live well and went searching, found them near the VZ bridge. Had multiple drifts with 2-3 on at a time. Sam had the hot hand, but daughter Gabriele got the largest. Adrienne and Sean popped their striper cherries ending the day early and on a fantastic note.
