Don Beshada December Trip

Had Don Beshada and the boys out today, plan was to look for tuna to start the day, covered 150 miles and didnt see any signs of tuna until we were 5 miles from the dock, wtf?! Saw them a few times but couldn't get a cast on them. Luckily we hit a wreck that was loaded and we had a nice haul on jumbos to 6lbs.

Jim Preuninger December Stripers

Capt Greg had Jim Preuninger out for his last striper trip of the year. Covered a lot of ground and ended up finding a feed. Tried out a few newer Nomad lures which we will be adding to our arsenal for the spring. Tagged a few more for @grayfishtag and called it a day. 

Kevin McCreesh Stripers

Had Kevin McCreesh out today for some stripers on the fly, fish did not disappoint, had over 30 fish and called it an early day!

Roger Sanford Stripers

Capts Greg and Kenny had Roger Sanford and friends out today. Slower start but made a run and got on some fish. Good mix of sized fish between 23 inches to 35 inches and all fish caught on casting shads, Nomad Vibes, and a few on top water. Ended the day on birds closer to home and called it a day when the rain started. Only a few more dates available see below!

Post Thanksgiving Family Trip

Had my favorite trip of the year today post Thanksgiving trip with family! Landed over 20 fish mostly on topwater in less than an hour, life doesn't get any better!

Daniel Ulmer Stripers

Capt Greg and Kenny had Daniel Ulmer out today in the 31. We tagged 32 stripers with @grayfishtag and unfortunately couldn't tag quick enough with how fast the fish were coming so we released a bunch without tags. Either way a great day and caught on everything we threw.

Peter Gravinese Stripers

Had first timer to the Toy, Peter Gravinese and his crew. His team wanted light tackle action and we made it happen. First drift limited landing over 20 fish with Brock releasing a nice 43 inch fish. Rest of the morning had crazy feeds at every spot, easily landed over 60 fish, what a morning!

We still have tomorrow AM available for charter. 

Jeff Speruto Stripers

Had longtime regular Jeff Speruto back with the boys, Tyler, Joey and Giovanni, and first timer Josh. Started off on the birds and they never let up had over 25 fish and called it an early day! Even cooler was Josh getting his first on top water.

Chris DeCresce Stripers

Had longtime regular Chris Decresce and son Luke today, got on the bass feed with shads and got our fill and made it an early great day!

Jim Preuninger Stripers

Capts Greg and Kenny had Jim, John and Tim out today. Made a LONG run to get on the fish and found them on top getting them on spooks and shads. Classic fall fishing chasing birds and bass! 

 

Craig Rosen Stripers

Had first timer to the boat Craig Rosen out today with the boys. Aaron got us started off on the right foot with a nice 42 incher released, then birthday boy Scott and Xander with high hook owners at half a dozen a piece. Both Craigs had nice trips getting them on topwater and shads. Congrats to Brandon who flew up from Texas on his first striper, great job guys! Now its time to Hook and Cook at the barge

Don Beshada Stripers

Capt Greg and Kenny had Don out for stripers in the bay. Found them on top and Don connected on his stick baits which he has been dying to try out. Headed home early after an enjoyable afternoon

Sam Angelo Stripers

Capt Greg and Jimmy had Sam Angelo and family out for striped bass. First off thanks to mate Jimmy for being a trooper after taking a treble hook through the boot, sock, and foot. And thank you to the Jenna P for handing us off a pair of bolt cutters. 

As far as the fishing it was great seeing an easy limit and many releases with Gray Fish Tags. A great group and lots of fun in shorts and t-shirts to end the day.

Matt Ronca Stripers

Had Matt Ronca out for the first time with son Max and buddy Ryan, along with his special guest Tatoo Dan. Started out with a bang on all surface action and ended the trip the same way, had over 30 fish up to 36 inches. Great job boys.  

Chris Vaughn Stripers

Had Chris Vaughn and his crew out today, great bite early, releasing fish up to  43 inches on Nomad Shikari plugs

Chris Durham Stripers

Had Chris and son Devin with buddies Bruce and son Mike. Boys put an absolute beating on the fish today. Only 2 hours into the trip and have over 30 fish and counting from on fish from 32-38 inches. The Nomad Shikari and Vertrex have been crushing them, bass are feeding on peanut bunker and vertrex is perfect match the hatch.

Jim Preuninger Stripers

Had Jim Preuninger back with friends Tony and Diane out for stripers. Super slow start and trolled a couple then found a great top water feed to end the trip on docs and shads. White water with heavy bird play and stripers in the slop was awesome.

Larry Brusskin Stripers

Had longtime regular Larry Brusskin with son Julius out today for some fall stripers. Man did the fish cooperate, had an insane popper bite on the surface with popping plugs.  thanks Frank. Shaping up to be a great fall run!

Sunday Stripers

Had sick liveline bite this afternoon in the snot. Had our limit on the first drift. Great time with the boys!

Don Beshada Canyon Tuna

Had Don Beshada and the boys back, this time he brought his cousin Jerry to experience this insane bite. Got to the canyon at sun up and Started the trip off with a quadruple header! Soon after hooked a big fish that we chased for over an hour, eventually chaffed her off on light leader. Resumed the chunking and landed another half dozen, then decided to head home for lunch. 

Adam Conley Stripers

Had longtime regular Adam Conley out for the afternoon. He  heard about the insane striper bite. Went out  at lunchtime, middle of the day and he landed 6 in first half an hour

Jim Preuninger Stripers

Had Jim and his dad Bill who was in town from Florida out for stripers. The fall run is here and the fish were hungry this morning. Landed 30 fish all on live bunker and called it an early morning. UPCOMING AVAILABILITY:

Eric Lavin Tuna Mahi Tile

Had Eric Lavin and the boys out Big Bill, Carm and Steve, started out on the draggers getting our limit in first half an hour on bait and jigs. Did a quick light tackle pot hop session getting a dozen in short order.  Changed gears then did an hour of day drop, guys got bored so decided to drop for some tiles to top out the box getting a dozen on Fishermans Choice salmon strips before heading to the barn. 

Don Beshada Yellowfin

Had Don and the boys back out. With a small weather window we made the run, got to the grounds in a few hours and landed over 18 fish in an hour on fish up to 80lbs. Towards the end we used strictly poppers. Before heading home we had a big bluefin feeding in our slick. I fed her a squid and she gulped it down, fought her for an hour and got her close enough to guesstimate her over 73 inches so we cut her loose. Great way to end the trip! 

Stripers- 31FA Back in Perth Amboy

Moved the 31FA back to Perth Amboy and got the striper season started on a good note. Had my Dad and cousins on board and had fish up to 36 inches! Cant wait to see all of my regulars and new crews as well!  

Don Beshada Tuna

Had Don Beshada and the boy's back. Had a small window to fish, got the bites had over a dozen but landing ratio was worst of the year, but fish were big up to 80lbs  back at the dock with some meat and had a good time for the short amount of time we had.

Don Beshada Tuna Mahi

Had Don Beshada out with the boys today, Tony, Frankie, and Jesse. Frankie got us going early with a nice bluefin, then we jigged over 50 albies and bonito, time to move, made a long run to find the right water, which we did which was lifeless, changed gears and landed close to 20 mahi in short order with Jesse having the hot hand. Did a wahoo troll but just mahis, went back on the tuna hunt but same just bonito and albies.

Pete Letushko Tuna Mahi

Had first timer Pete Letushko on the Toy with his crew. Made a decision to get to canyon at first light for an early troll, had great conditions got there sooner and did some chunking before sunrise, on the drift landed a nice stud yellowfin, before going on the troll got the rest of the crew who has never done any offshore a bunch of mahi to join the action. After a slow trolling session decided to do first day drop sword session of the season, had our spread out  and had our first hit within 15 minutes, unfortunately didnt come tight. Decided to end the day with another dozen mahi to end the trip.

Russ Chelak Offshore

Had long time regular Russ Chelak out today with buddies Tim and Rob for the  first time offshore. Got on a nice pick of yellows on the chunk, changed gears and put 20 nice mahi in the box, ended the day with a day with a dozen nice tiles, all on Fishermans choice salmons trips, even the mahi's crushing them!

Jim Preuninger Tuna Tiles Mahi

Had regular Jim Preuninger and the boys out. Started tuna fishing getting some

bites early on hammer 65 pound yellows. Then  tried a deep wreck for grouper/barrels with Fishermans Choice salmon strips, hooked a sea monster that took is for  a ride before the line parted! ugh,🤬. Dropped for tiles getting a few then pot hopped for mahi getting over 20. 

Jordan Burroughs Offshore Mixed Bag

Had Jordon Burroughs  back out before he leaves for the World Championship in Serbia next month, where he was chosen as the #1 seed. This time he brought the whole squad who are who's who in wrestling. His coach Brandon Slay, teammates Mark Hall, Joe Mckenna, and big Richard Perry. Started out tuna fishing very slow, found feeds 

 but fish wouldn't chew. changed gears and pulled out the fishermans choice salmon strips  and landed a dozen tiles to 15lbs. popping all their cherries. Did some light tackle mahi getting a dozen to 12lbs, popping all the guys cherries again. Ended the trip getting some longfin.  

Kevin McCreesh Tuna and Mahi

Had the Kevin McCreesh family out today, made a long run south fishing new grounds and popped off a good one. Tried tilefishing but had zero drift!🤬Changed  gears and Nikki had the hot hand on the light tackle mahi. Daniel ended the trip decking a nice 60lb yellow on a pink ron Z.
