Had Andy back with brother Chris and cuz Mike
And Mike T. Made bait and went on the hunt for stripers,

Stripers/Mixed Bag with John Ryan and crew
Had long time regular John out with buddies Jeff
Mat and Joe. Made bait and went down the beach
Looking for the larger striped variety, no luck.
Hit a few spots for seabass/ling landing some nice sized

Back on the chunk and landed numerous blues for the smoker
Before getting some stripers for the guys.

Bluefin Midshore Trip with Derrick and Family
Had Derrick out for the first time with his son Chris, Brother Adam, and
Father in law Andy. Plan was to head offshore for Bluefin, but Mother Nature
Altered those plans. 30 miles out the wind came on early and gusted to 20,
Looked around and found some life and set up on it, tried sharking for an hour
No bites so we went on the troll, just small bluefish, didn't like the water so we took a run to the south and water looked great but no life. Hit a wreck and loaded up on pollack, ling, fluke and seabass waiting for the wind to settle. Subsided a bit and made a major run to the east, found a scallop boat and went to work, landed 3 quick Bluefin and headed to the barn.

Mixed Bag Offshore Trip with Oscar Carillo
Had Oscar back for his first offshore trip of the season, brought along his
Employee Sebastian to enjoy his first offshore trip. Started out to 1/8 mile visibility of fog from inlet all the way to the canyon. Made a stop at an offshore location And trolled up a 30'inch bluefin. With no visibility figured we were better off bottom fishing till fog cleared, hit a wreck and got a dozen baseball bat ling, then hit the tile grounds and landed a dozen golden and huge blue lines. Made a run to next Tuna spot inshore and fog finally cleared, a few minutes later we spotted thousands of bluefin tuna on the surface. The boys went to work,
Landing 2 unders and an over in no time and could have kept catching and releasing but opted to head to the barn since the boxes were full!

Redemption Trip
Had Bill Poletti and son with Tim Drag. These are 2
Customers that had slow trips on the Toy and I wanted to
Show them a good time. Told them todays trip would be
Captains choice only going for what made sense. Cleared
The inlet and saw conditions were fine. Ran east until I
Saw clean water found it 30 miles off. Talking to other boats
With no tuna action decided to drift wrecks for bottom fish
And sharks. Had Pollack, Cod, ling and seabass, when the Sharks
Showed up Bill JR landed the biggest fish of his life, a 6 foot shark!

Open Boat Tuna-Mahi-Bottom
Had regulars Dan the Jigaman, Ed Eamon and newcomers Paul with his son Jack. Made our way to the grounds and looked around a bit, heard it was pick. Ran over some nice marks and began jigging had a fish on right way, Dan did a great job and we had a nice 46 incher on the deck. Looked around again and found some more marks, and hooked up again, this time young Jack went to work and landed his first tuna of his life in short order, which we then tagged and released for the Tag-A-Bluefin foundation. After a while the crew decided to look for some mahi, where Paul landed one, then went bottomfishing, that was slow with only ling to show for it. Made a run inshore and worked bunker pods for sharks, but wound up jigging our first Bonito of the year and blues.

Open Boat Mixed Bag Offshore Trip 7/30
Had newcomers to the boat John, Jeremy, Fran and his brother Tom. Left the inlet in the dark to get to the spot early. Half a dozen boats there and thousands of tuna chicks! Was going to troll but the machine had lots of good marks so we started jigging, had one on right way, nice job John. Decided to troll to find some bigger models, Jeremy was up next popping his Tuna cherry. Went back on the jig and the Foley brothers landed theirs, tagged and released some more. Since everyone had landed one we decided to look for mahi, found a pot with a bunch of gaffers but only landed one and losing the rest. Hit a few wrecks on the way home to nail a dozen cod and ling. Lots of fun with a bunch of new anglers to the TOY!

Bottom Fishing Trip with the Farkas Family Charter
Had Bob Senior, Junior, brother Glen, and daughters Daisha and Jennifer. The crew had won a 4 hour trip through a raffle to raise money for Breast Cancer through Clarks Landing. Loaded the crew and went to the first wreck, divers were there which made us have to switch gears, next wreck had a lot of life, was getting a steady pick going of seabass and lots of ling with Jennifer getting a doubleheader when a storm started heading our way. Made the decision to head inshore and fish the river for fluke, that was a bust. Had a great time with a fun family!

Overnight Canyon trip with the Pat Barr Charter
Had Cheryl call me to give her husband Pat his 50th Birthday Gift, he brought his son Mike and buddy Joe. Left the inlet in search for Bluefin, no luck, made some drifts on wrecks for Cod and Pollack no luck, made a run for the canyon, got there and found all the life we wanted, whales, porpoises and bait but no tuna. Changed gears and started tilefishing, had a fast drift that made it tough but nailed half a dozen goldens and bluelines. Went back on the troll still no luck, set up for the night, no bites until 330 when we had a monster on a jig, fought the beast for half an hour making no head way till hook pulled, damn. Went on the troll but again life but no tuna, changed gears again and went light tackle mahi fishing, had plenty of bites with many fished miss but all of the guys got in on the action. Picked up and ran inshore to look for bluefin, greeted by big nasty bluefish. Ended the day getting Seabass and ling. Fun day with all of the guys catching their first tiles and mahi.

Mixed Bag Offshore Trip with the Adam Conley Charter
Had Adam out for the first time offshore after numerous Striper trips. He had is usual buddies of Mike, Pat and Andy. Due to hectic shedules we made the run today in less than favorable conditions, got to our spot and saw lots of life, birds, whales, turtles, marking bait and fish. On the troll we had knockdowns but big seas made it tough to troll. Hit a wreck and bagged a dozen nice Cod and Baseball bat ling. Went on the drift chunking and jigging, the Brown Sharks and Bluefish made getting the baits to tuna impossible. On the way home hit a wreck for 20 keeper seabass and ling.

Offshore Mixed Bag Trip with Oscar Carillo
Had Oscar back again this year for his first trip offshore this year. Started out trolling for tuna but not a lot of life, hit a wreck and began jigging, got a few cod and decided to try some sharking, no wind and calm conditions made it difficult to get a good shark drift, nonetheless Oscar still battled a 10 foot Blue Shark. Shifted gear and went to another wreck, had good action landing another half dozen cod to 15lbs, and monster ling, great ending to a beautiful day!
