Striper/Tog Trip with TJ Miller
Had regular TJ on board today, he wanted to catch some tog for dinner
Then look for stripers. Looked for stripers but just lots of bait, decided to
Tog and landed over 20 in an hour. Went looking for stripers and found
Them, getting them up to 25lbs. Great way to start the inshore fall run!

Striper Limit Bottom Fishing Trip
Had the crew of John "Crackhead", Will "Jazz", and "Jamaican Chris". Jigged our striper limit and tons of blues to 12lbs early. Hit the wrecks for togs and got our limit quickly, with a nice trigger and released tons of seabass to 3lbs. On the way home got into an insane Striper bite with surface plugs to end the day.

End of Year Tog Limit
Had the afternoon open to kill some time Called my buddies Scott and John and hit some local snags to tog. Went with the whiteleggers today in nice sunny flat conditions. First 2 spots where very slow. Third spot was the charm built the life and slammed the tog, had our limit and had many quality fish with few throwbacks. Had 4 fish over 9lbs, and 2 over 10lbs. Newbie tog fisherman John, had his limit and landed 2 of the 10's and one of the nine's, told him that is the best cherry trip for a tog fisherman I ever heard of!

John Sheedy Bottom Fishing Charter
Had John on board with his son John, and Dad, three generations of Sheedy's always the best days. Brought along "Blackfish Bobby", and son "The Puller" Andrew with buddy Anthony "Red Gatorade" Schinella. Worked over a dozen wrecks with minimal results, a dozen keeper seabass, lots of shorts, ling, tog and short fluke, wish I had better catch report, but not in the cards for a great crew. Totally frustrated, but the kids made it fun today, Anthony S, was one of my star forwards during the winter-spring basketball season so it brought back some good memories!

Adam Zion Tog Charter
Had Adam back for his yearly trip with Monty, Joe, Eric and newcomer Mark. Bite started off slow and was slower throughout the day, no current or wind and very scratchy bite. Made moves from East south To Barneget. In between moves looked for Stripers couldn't find them either. Ended the day with 14 Tog to 7lbs. Highlight of day was Mark catching his personal best.

Blackfish/Bass Thomas Wade Charter
We had Thomas and his buddies aboard for a Blackfish/Bass trip. Plan was to work our way to the north looking for some bass then switch gears over to blackfish as most of the guys were new to it and wanted to give it a shot. Left the dock at 7 am and made our way north looking both tight to the beach and off a couple miles for some bird activity/readings. Didnt come across anything promising at all. Decided to go right into toggin. Throughout the day we made a bunch of different moves from Long Branch to Sea Girt and all fared about the same. Would get a flurry of action right away with a keeper here and there then it would stop completely. Later on in the day the guys wanted to try to look for some bass again. Looked quite a ways to the south without any luck

The Mike Jones Charter for Bass & Blackfish
Had the Mike Jones charter out today for some bass and blackfish. We started off the day running way north looking for the striped ones that they had the day before. Found no life along the beaches all the way up to the hook, heard of a few fish caught first light up there but the bite shut down right away w/ the boat traffic. Shortly after we got there, the wind really started to blow making for very tough conditions with incoming tides and the strong w - nw wind. We reset many times but it just wasnt in the cards. The guys opted to go have fun catching some blackfish. We made a stop on the way back and had some nice blackfish action to 5#. Took a little bit to get them going but the guys managed to get their limit and release plenty more.

Striper & Tog with the Chuck Lovell Charter

Had Chuck out again with buddies Scotty "Shotgun", Jim and Brian. Headed north looking for a jig bite ended up seeing some birds working and jigged up 3 keepers and half a dozen shorts to start the day. Also jigged another dozen blues to 12lbs. Lots of sandeels around with many swimming in tight schools right next to the boat. Once the bite died we went into Tog mode. Most of the crew had never tried it but caught on quickly. Topped out the box with our limit of tog to 5lbs.

Allen Chung Sunday Charter
Sunday I had Allen and a few of his friends for a combo trip. We headed north to the striper grounds and when we got there birds were working pretty good but it was all blues. Looked for a while for some bass readings but we didnt find any..only blues. From there we did some bottom fishing for a few hours and got our limit of blackfish and alot of seabass which had to be returned...that sucks. We were going to shoot out to the mud hole for some cod and ling but the winds really never let down so we then headed back south to look for some bass but by the the time we got there they were shut down. Pretty frustrating day on the stripers but the guys had a great time regardless.

Dave Peters Mixed Bag Charter

Good to finally get out with this crazy weather Had Dave today with son Mat. Plan was to try a bunch of different species. Once we netted the live bait we headed out of the inlet and jigged a dozen Blues to 12lbs. Made a run out to the Mud Hole and began live bait chumming to look for Bluefin, had one good bite but fish spit the hook, then had some nice sized mahi eat our peanuts but couldn't connect. Mat was getting bored so we made a run back in and set on some rockpiles for seabass, landed over 40 with only half a dozen keepers. Changed gears and went togging with Mat having the hot hand, landed a couple of dozen with our boat limit of keepers. Ended the day jigging again and landed some keeper weakfish to end the day. Beautiful day with a great father/son team to fish with.

Jamie McGinley Charter for Sea Bass
Today we had Jamie, son James, friend Ed, his son Ryder and their buddy Carlos out for some seabass. Left the dock around 830 and were on our way. We stopped at our first spot and had steady action for a couple of hours with plenty of keepers coming into the boat. Once the tide stopped the fish turned off completely. We bumped around to a few more spots picking away at some nice seabass and some fat ling. Made one last drop and had a nice flurry of keepers to finish it off. The guys called it early to go home and start up the grills! Ended up the day with 50 keeper sea bass and 7 nice ling. Also had some nice blackfish (released) and some short cod mixed in.

Open Boat Mud Hole Wreck Saturday
Ran an open boat trip yesterday which consisted of both regulars and new customers. The ladies came out in force today and held their own fishing a long day in the deep. First drop was in 85 foot to see if we could grab a few seabass before hitting the ling drops. Got a few nice seabass there plus some cod and a big ole male blackfish (released). Took off and hit a wreck in 130 foot and we plucked a few fish off there. Next stop in 150 produced the same but the pickins were a bit better. After that drop, anchoring conditions fell apart but we continued to pluck away. On the way home hit another drop in 70 foot and with the seas building we managed a full pail of seabass pretty quick and headed to the barn at 6:30. Our total for the day was 46 ling, 25 seabass and 4 keeper cod plus some released huge winter flounder. OK trip fishing-wise but great nonetheless. I want to thank everyone for coming down and making the trip. ~Capt Carlos

Dr. Tino Charter Striped Bass/Fluke & Sea Bass
Had the guys from Connecticut out (Dr. Tino, his friend, and son Nikki). The plan for the day was to look for some bass first thing then switch over to some bottom fishing after a few hours. We worked some bunker pods hard for the first few hours to no avail. We stuck inshore as little Nikki wasn't feeling to well and hit some local spots. We picked away at some short fluke and sea bass with a handful of keepers mixed in. Nikki was still feeling a little under the weather so we ran in and did some river fluking for a few hours to round out the trip where we picked up about 30-40 shorts and one nice 20" keeper. Also got some very nice blackfish today (released)
