Open Boat Summer Stripers

Capt Greg and Shane had a summer stripper open boat trip. Slow start only catching a couple and we landed on them and went to work releasing a lot and boxing our limit. The highlight was the last fish of the day- a 47" tank caught by Baqir.

Larry Canyon Tuna

Had Larry and Scott back out with there sons for some offshore fishing, first time tunafishing for most of them. As soon as we got to the grounds had instant action, all the boys got to bend the rod on the smaller bluefins till the yellowfins showed up. Ended the morning with 3 yellows and 2 blues. Decided to give them the full offshore experience. Ran to canyon, tilefishing conditions horrible only getting small blueline, pots were barren from mahi, so made decision to head back to tuna grounds, got some yellows and bluefin to end the day on a high note.

Family Bluefin Trip

Had the family out yesterday for a few hours of fishing, The boats name sake Andrea herself reeled in the first tuna. Everyone got a chance to reel in some tuna, great family day!

Open Boat Canyon

Great day with the regulars today, started on the yellowfin grounds, had half a dozen  to start the day on the new Chatter Purple Mini Bullets, knew they would kill it! Had a few opportunities casting but couldn't connect. Did some mahi and tiles getting only 1 nice mahi. On the way home ran into a slick with tons of chicks and again the Purple Bullet crushed the yellows and under limit of Bluefin to fish of 42 inches.

Canyon on 44FA

Had a morning session on my old 44FA with a bunch of friends. Ran out to the canyons not much happening, ran back inshore where we saw the life and had a pick up yellowfin and bluefin. Did see hundreds of tuna on surface but wouldn't eat anything. Back at dock early today after a fun day with the guys.

Vinny T Stripers

Capt Greg and Shane had Vinny T and the boys out for stripers. Got on them right after getting our bunker but that fizzled and we bounced around for while with a lull in the action waiting for conditions to align. Got on a good bite to end the day and put in a little overtime to get the guys five keepers to take home.

Bluefin and Tilefish Canyon

Had the regulars out for a mixd bag canyon trip. Started out in some  nice feeds,  no luv. Made the run to the edge, got our tuna limit and released a bunch on Purple Chatter lures. Changed up gears and got our limit of blueline and goldens on UVT jigs. On way home got into great surface feeds with Bluefin crushing the UVT stick-baits and surface poppers.

Charlie Bush Stripers

Had Charlie Bush with 9 people out for stripers so did a joint trip with dock neighbor Morning Dew. Yvette led the charge with a 40" fish right off the bat and then we managed to a few keepers in the box. Great way to beat the heat was being on the water!

Kelly Leach Blues

Had Kelly Leach and son and his buddies out today. All Kelly wanted was the boys to have rod bending action all day. Started in ocean on blitzing blues, had dozens, then hit some wrecks for ling, just tons of throwback seabass. Tried fluking, not much happening so went back to more blues to finish a fun day!

Dan Albanese Stripers

A couple days ago had Dan Albanese and crew out of stripers. Odd drifting conditions but put together a solid catch boxing a limit of stripers and plenty of releases up to Kevin's 36" fat healthy fish. The bass are starting to fill into their summertime habits and it's shaping up to be a great summer of striped bass fishing!

Sam Angelo Stripers

Had Sam Angelo back again for stripers. Bankers hours trip we left at 9am but had a slow start. Finally found some fish to work on and put the live bunker to use and fell one short of the crews 5 person limit.

Frank Moran Stripers

Had Frank Moran with the Crowleys out for stripers. Gave them the option to go sea bassing and they said they wanted to get on the stripers. Made our bunker easily and picked away at the stripers. Had a nice couple of drifts that made the day getting our limit and releasing a few more for another day.

Evan Refvik Sea Bass

Had Evan Refvik out today and the guys elected to target sea bass. We caught 40 keeper sea bass with some ling and even a mackerel in the mix. Good fishing on both the jigs and bait. Snagged some bunker on the way in to try and top the box off with a striper or two but our bites didn't come tight. Great day with beautiful weather! 

Sam Angelo Stripers

Had Sam Angelo for stripers- bait took a little while but once we got our bait it was game on. Never hot and heavy but easy limit with some doubles and plenty of releases. Beautiful weather was the cherry on top!

First canyon trip - First Tuna

Had our first canyon trip today. Conditions weren't ideal. Not able to cruise at optimal speeds to canyons, but made it happen. Got to the grounds and got our first tuna of 2025 on our favorite @chatterlures Purple Wingman. Dropped down to jig tiles and @uvtfishing jigs got the job done on golden tiles.

Dave Frankel Stripers

Had Dave Frankel and guys out today- found some bunker in the bay and picked fish here and there missing a bunch of other bites unfortunately. Never hot and heavy but ended up putting a catch together falling just short of our limit.

Yuda Sea Bass

Had a fun with Yuda and the boys from the Fish On Tournament. Plan was to start with Trophy Stripers, but some of the crew showed up really late missing the bite. Switched gears hit some wrecks salvaged the day with a bunch of nice seabass, ling and cod.

Larry DeLouis Stripers

Had Larry and Scott back with their sons, goal was to get each on a fish of a lifetime. Mind you they have never fished before but good athletes. Able to get each a bite, however only got 1 to the net, nice 48 incher.  Ended the trip with a light tackle session casting for blues

Brian Priest Stripers

Did our last trip in Raritan Bay with Brian Priest, landing half dozen fish in short order, even though the fog was thick decided to stretch her legs and ran out looking for inshore tuna, fog finally lifted and saw 1 feed, casts didnt hit the mark and never saw them again.

Fish On Tournament Stripers

Andreas Toy hosted the annual Fish On Tournament, 3rd year in a row, it included close to a dozen local Capts to benefit a worthy cause. There were 62 anglers with most boats putting up some good #'s with windy conditions. 

On the 31 Capt Greg's group caught over a dozen fish on live bunker boxing a limit of keepers and releasing the rest. Not bad considering the windy conditions and first time saltwater anglers. Didn't win "heaviest keeper" but had a great time.

Fish On Tournament 2025

Drew Carlson Stripers

In the afternoon on the 31 had Drew Carlson and the guys out and despite the slower start landed on a good bite in the middle of the trip which ended with a bang running thru all of our baits and leaving them biting. Great trip with first time live liners.

David Hockenberry Stripers

On the 31 in the morning Capt Greg and Shane had David Hockenberry out and what an incredible trip. Loaded our well and in one 45 min drift blew thru all of our baits. One, two, three on at a time- the kind of bite you hit the bottom and just start pulling on fish. Had our limit in a few minutes of fishing. Re threw the new and got some more bait to continue picking through the morning.

Dan Pilliteri Stripers

Had Dan and John Pilliteri back for there annual trip. Got our bait and off we went. John got us started with the biggest fish of the day at 36 inches that had to go back. After that was a slow pick for us. Slow fishing but a gorgeous day out.

Alan Kulesza Stripers

Had Alan Kulesza back today for stripers. Heavy fog today but had steady action throughout the trip on the live bunker. Jason Marshall caught his first few stripers today as well to round off our limit of keeper stripers. Ended the day with a nice flurry where we ran out of bait and headed in right before the rain
